Six months of planning, propagation and execution converge for this huge, one day May event. The sale includes over 4,000 plants, both ornamental and edible, cultivated and donated by club members. Thousands of dollars are raised to support student benefits and scholarships to graduating high school seniors; as well as, local community gardens (Breast Cancer Awareness garden and the Vashon Community Care Garden) with plants, labor, and materials. In 2017, 2018, 2019 Mukai Farms and Garden were awarded grants from VMIGC to support restoration of the garden of this historical landmark. Grants also were made to Vashon Land Trust for Matsuda Farm for new greenhouse tables and repair of the seeding greenhouse skin. Each year VMIGC recognizes notable none-member private and commercial gardens for their commitment to gardening.
