Summer 2020 Activities
This years unusual circumstances (with Covid-19), Gov Inslee's Stay At Home proclamation, and CDC's Safe Distancing recommendations, has created new challenges for our members, volunteers and board members. At this time, our Summer Events have not been scheduled..
As local possibilities evolve, we will keep you posted. Meanwhile, be happy in your garden and Be Safe.
Virtual 2020 Garden Tour
We all are missing our Summer Garden Tours so much during this Covid-19 summer moment. We are missing our garden buddies, sharing tips, and admiring the fruits of our labor. Many of us are spending more time and labor in our gardens during this Covid-19 time. I hope you all have a miracle in the garden or at least many favorites in the garden to share.
Thank you Jackie O'Malley for suggesting a summer virtual photo share of our club member gardens.
If you would like to take us on a photo tour of your 2020 Summer Garden, drop a note into our club email: vashongardenclub@gmail.com Subject: VMICG 2020 Photo Garden
Please include your phone number for a call back for instructions.

Sheet Mulch Demonstration With Diane Emerson
Low Maintenance Gardening Without Chemicals: Sheet Mulching
One key way you can make your gardening life easier is to practice sheet mulching for weedy areas, shrub borders, and new garden beds. Imagine walking around your well-mulched garden, with no weeds or grass poking their heads up and demanding attention. All is peace, while the mulch and cardboard do the work. You need never double dig again, and you can free up shed space by giving your rototiller to the Tool Lending Library.
1:30 am to 12 noon on the following days:
Wednesday, August 12
Wednesday, August 19
Saturday, August 22
Wednesday, August 26
Saturday, August 29
Address: Tree of Life building, 17331 Vashon Hwy SW
My contact phone: Cell: 206-234-4813, if people want to check and see if there is still space for another attendee. Limit of 3 people at first, to see how it goes. I might increase it to 4 if demand is there.
I will have the detailed handout printed for attendees.
Social distancing and masks required, of course.
Please let me know if you have any questions, or suggestions for changing how this will work. I am really looking forward to it!
